Building a new PC
Sunday, September 28th, 2008My current PC (the one I use to make the strip) was built for the release of a little game called Half-Life 2. I’ve done nothing to it since. In other words, I’m so out of date that I pretty much don’t play games on the PC anymore.
That’s about to change, and luckily in time for Left 4 Dead. This weekend I ordered parts for an all-new rig, and it will be awesome. I’m getting a quad-core Intel CPU, a Nvidia GTX260 videocard (this card alone has almost 50x the RAM that was in my first PC), 4GB of RAM and a Terabyte HD. This will all be housed in the sexy Antec 900 case, and the OS will be Vista 64 Ultimate.
The videocard comes with a free copy of Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I already own this on the 360, but it will be nice to dig back into it, this time with a much better chance of hitting my targets. I’m also looking forward to checking out some past hits that I’ve missed, like STALKER and Crysis. I’d also like to get Neverwinter Nights 2 and The Witcher, but it’s really hard to find time to play RPGs anymore. I can dream, though.
