Call of Duty World at War
Friday, November 14th, 2008I’ve played through a few of the single player chapters at this point. I’ve got big issues with this game. My biggest is that I feel like I’m a spectator being dragged along, only asked to push a few buttons to advance to the next segment. You’ve always got someone barking orders at you, and if you don’t comply, he just repeats them….again and again. You get the impression that NOTHING you do outside of that objective matters.
But hey, I don’t want to be all negative. I enjoyed some of the sniping in the russian section, and cooking people with the flame thrower is great fun. And I’ve yet to gain access to the zombie mode. I can imagine the conversation regarding this mode… ‘hey guys, everyone will want to play this part of our game, we should probably force them to play our scripted nonsense first…’
I don’t know if I’ll make it all the way… this game has a lot of competition for my time, and it’s not doing much to endear itself to me. That said, if you are enjoying it, that’s all that counts. We don’t all have to like the same games. That would actually be very bad.
