We’ll Patch It Later
It’s been a while since the PC saw a good realistic combat FPS. When I say “realistic” I mean “you get shot, you die”. There are currently 2 such games on the PC horizon, ArmA II and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. ArmA II just released in Germany, and as expected, it’s apparently as bug-infested as the first ArmA was upon release. Bohemia Interactive, much like the late Troika, has a reputation for great games that are ultimately dragged down due to poor quality assurance.
Both ArmA II and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising look like great fun. Unfortunately, I know that I don’t have room for both of them in my life, so I’ll be taking a wait-and-see approach. The first game that starts getting good word of mouth / good community support will be the one I buy.
